Back to School ...
These are ATC's I created for a "Back to School" swap.  I always got new saddles shoes for school (I hated them!) ... and, of course, a brand new box of crayons.

Some ATC's for a Halloween-themed swap.  I used oil pastels on all these - I like the soft effect they give.

For this week's Summer of Color, two oranges and blue:

And another ...

This week's Summer of Color challenge was to use two reds and a metallic, so here's my (abstract) contribution.  These reds really are slightly different shades, but the photo doesn't show it well.  Acrylics on watercolor paper.

Odds and Ends

Haven't posted for quite a while, but here is an assortment of art I've been doing ...

These are for a swap and are modeled after the art of Modigliani.  His subjects are characterized by their long necks and (often) vacant eyes.

I received a gelli plate for Christmas and have been having lots of fun with it.  I used it for the backgrounds on these, which are for a "blue" swap:

I colored the hearts on a separate sheet with oil pastels, then rubbed tissue paper over it.  The tissue picked up the color, then I fixed the tissue onto a new postcard with gel medium and added a few things here and there.  You can't tell it here, but it came out with an almost encaustic appearance.  Anyway, just an experiment.

On a roll ...

I was on a roll with the Glimmer Mists on these two ATC's ...

I used India ink and a bamboo "pen" to make these flowers.
I like working with ink - it can be so dramatic.
